The Artist In Hue

Art Education for every student

Educational Philosophy

I believe that an art classroom is a place where students feel safe and free to explore their place in the world. My classroom is a place where diversity in thought, background and experience, is valued.

My students will grow to become critical thinkers who are capable of action. I aim to foster within them a respect for other people and ideas, while being confident about expressing their individual perspectives. My students are artistic thinkers who are confident in their ability to solve problems creatively.

Professional Artist!

When I was young I got in trouble for drawing on the fixtures in my bedroom with sharpies.

It wasn’t until college that I decided to get serious about art.  I am not sure what took me so long!

Favorite Media

I fancy myself as a bit of an art supply hoarder. I really do love it all.  I keep coming back to colored pencil. The ability to achieve detail and saturated bright colors keep me hooked!

Doll house remodel: I recently purchased an old doll house from a thrift store. I plan to design new rooms in technicolor designs!

Cattle drawing in colored pencil is in the works.

Re-organization of my art studio. Creativity is messy!
